“Ready to face the future”

With a new building incorporating a large technical center and a 60th jubilee anniversary, Brabender Technologie has many reasons to celebrate! A jubilee event (60+1) was held by the Brabender team in Duisburg with the attendance of customers, partners, employees and guests from the region. As General Manager Bruno Dautzenberg puts it: “Given that we had to relocate last year during ongoing operations, we simply postponed our anniversary celebration by one year, because we wanted to celebrate it together with you.”

Guests traveled from far away

Employees from all over the world traveled to Germany, enabling almost the entire “team” (recognizable in red polo shirts) to celebrate with their guests. A detail that Duisburg’s mayor Sören Link highlighted in his welcoming address was the bond between employees and their employer. Brabender Technologie has retained its identity as a family business, despite all the growth, globalization and constant competitive pressures. “I regard that as very remarkable. And I can therefore not only congratulate the company on reaching 60, but also congratulate its employees on the company they work for.”

Dr. Stefan Dietzfelbinger, General Manager of the Lower Rhine Chamber of Industry and Commerce, emphasized the company’s technological adaptability. Only a handful of companies reach the grand age of 60. “A great deal has happened during this period, particularly in the field of engineering.” Guests were able to visualize this passage of time as there was an exhibition that include historic and current Brabender equipment along with supporting photos.

Demonstrations in the Technical Center

Given that the Technical Center is both the nucleus and the spatial center of the “K49” building, feeding demonstrations showed the opportunities that the new facility provides. Thanks to the test lab second floor, filling and refilling processes can be simulated in addition to conducting feeding tests. Guests were able to see live what a negative impact small upstream conditions can have on the actual feeding process. “The topic of feeding sounds straightforward enough, but it is not as trivial as it looks and is seriously dependent on upstream processes”, Bruno Dautzenberg explains.

Having fun was also undoubtedly a part of this event in addition to all the tours and demonstrations. Live music and Segway tours lightened the mood as did a broad range of culinary delights. And because the event took place in the Ruhr region, currywurst was of course on the menu. Everybody enjoyed this specialty just as much as the hot buffet, fresh burgers, selection of fish dishes and – of course – draft pilsner.

Satisfied customers and suppliers

Customers and partners expressed their satisfaction and showed their affinity with the company. One spontaneous answer to the question of what one would wish Brabender Technologie for the future was: “That they continue in business for at least as long as we do!” In Duisburg people are also proud of this long-established company. Duisburg’s mayor Sören Link says: “A global market leader, brand new, state-of-the-art corporate headquarters and personnel that you can always rely on – this is how you could describe Brabender – ready to face the future.”
